Workshop Description

This workshop is intended for working interpreters wanting to improve their ASL
production. Workshop will review several grammatical features of ASL and learn
how to better handle these features linguistically. Topics will Include ASL
features such as; Topic/comment, interrogative questions, rhetorical questions,
group nouns, and discourse markers. Participants will also discuss how to
interpret with meaning and intent while leaving form behind and focusing on
function. Discussion of ASL grammar, linguistic and cultural intent, and
processing will be incorporated. Participants will have extended periods of
practice for lessons learned.

We are excited to have David Moorman-Rice coming to the Quad Cities to present "Tools for Your ASL Toolbox."

To begin the fun please join us Friday June 20th 6:30-8:00 at Bennigan's Holiday Inn, Bettendorf for our second annual interpreter roundtable. The first was so much fun we thought we'd do it again. The topic will be "best and worst interpreting experiences."

Saturday the workshop begins at 8:00, you will have an hour and a half for lunch on your own and we will conclude at 5:30. You will be able to earn 0.8 CEU's.
